1. About Sifotech
Sifotech UK Ltd is a UK software studio based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We design, build and operate hosted software products and deliver bespoke engineering services for UK customers across health, public sector, logistics and small business. Our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish this statement voluntarily because we believe a zero-tolerance position is the right one and because public-sector buyers value transparency.
2. Our supply chain
Our supply chain is short and almost entirely digital. The categories of supplier we rely on are:
- UK and EU-based SaaS and hosting providers (database, hosting, email, payments, communications, AI).
- UK-based professional services suppliers (accountants, legal counsel, insurance brokers).
- UK office consumables and equipment retailers.
- Occasional UK-based freelance contractors engaged for specialist design or engineering work.
We do not operate physical manufacturing, warehousing, freight, agricultural or hospitality supply chains, which are the sectors most commonly associated with modern slavery risk.
3. Policies
Sifotech maintains the following policies which together support this statement:
- Anti-bribery & Corruption policy.
- Equality & Diversity policy.
- Recruitment policy (right-to-work and identity checks).
- Whistleblowing channel for staff and contractors.
- Supplier code of conduct, included by reference in purchase orders.
4. Risk assessment
We consider our inherent modern-slavery risk to be low, on the following basis:
- Direct workforce is small and based in the UK; right-to-work checks are performed for every engagement.
- Suppliers are predominantly large, listed or well-capitalised technology vendors subject to their own statutory disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act and equivalent laws.
- We do not procure goods or services from countries identified as higher-risk by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office or the Global Slavery Index without enhanced due diligence.
We re-assess these factors annually and on every material change to our procurement footprint.
5. Due diligence
Our due diligence practices include:
- Reviewing each material supplier’s publicly available modern slavery statement before onboarding.
- Including anti-slavery and ethical-sourcing warranties in standard contractual templates.
- Verifying right-to-work documentation for all employees and long-term contractors.
- Paying staff and contractors at or above prevailing UK statutory minimum and Living Wage rates.
- Reviewing payroll and contractor invoices monthly to detect irregularities that may indicate exploitation.
6. Training
All staff complete an awareness briefing on modern slavery indicators on joining and annually thereafter. The briefing covers recognising signs of labour exploitation, supply-chain red flags, and the internal route for raising concerns.
7. Reporting concerns
Anyone — staff, contractor, supplier, customer or member of the public — who has a concern about modern slavery in connection with our business may report it confidentially to hello@sifotech.co.uk. Reports made in good faith will not result in retaliation. Where appropriate we will report concerns to the UK Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline (08000 121 700) and to law enforcement.
8. Approval and review
This statement is reviewed annually and approved by the director of Sifotech UK Ltd. It will be re-issued upon material change to our operations or supply chain. The next scheduled review date is 17 May 2027.
