Sifotech in-house pilot
UK consumers losing £1.2bn a year to scams have no neutral, council-grade place to check a suspicious link, screenshot or voice note.
What they asked for.
We piloted a free scam-check as a public-good tool: any UK adult can use it without an account. The bet was that consumers don't want yet another paid cybersecurity dashboard — they want a one-shot verdict on the message they just received, in plain English, with the reasoning shown.
The product had to handle four input modes (text, URL, image, voice), classify into thirteen UK-relevant scam categories (impersonation, smishing, romance, marketplace, AI-cloned voice and more), and explain itself well enough for a 75-year-old to follow. It also had to be transparent enough that a council or charity could white-label it on their own domain.
We built it in the open with a public funding scoreboard. It's the evidence base behind our Cyber Runway / DSIT grant track.
Built and in production.
Real numbers, not demos.
“A UK-built, council-grade scam-check that doesn't ask Grandma for an account. The public funding scoreboard means nothing is hidden behind a pitch deck.”
