Our own regulated transport operation needed DVSA-aligned walk-around checks and an inspector-ready audit trail — not a PDF binder in the cab.
What they asked for.
This is our own regulated UK transport operation, with multiple vehicles and a rota of drivers. DVSA walk-around checks were being recorded on paper and photographed when remembered — the worst of both worlds: no audit trail, no analytics, and no way to prove a check actually happened at 04:30 on a Tuesday.
We needed a structured digital walk-around with photo evidence, a defect workflow that escalated to a manager, attendance tracking against the rota, and a single audit-trail export the Transport Manager could hand to a DVSA inspector without explanation.
We deployed our compliance engine — ComplyOS — in our own live operation and turned on real check-ins from day one. The 2,122 check items now in the system are real walk-arounds against real vehicles by real named staff — not seed data.
